Research detail

A focused research library

AppMochi keeps only the evidence needed for a first-pass product decision.

Shown here

  • App icon and preview screenshots
  • Current score and rating count when available
  • Original release and latest update dates
  • Research role and one-line takeaway
  • Text-first and web-only adjacent products
  • Strongest sampled non-US storefronts

Available when useful

  • Version, developer, genre, age rating, and price
  • Written-review themes and review velocity via Apple RSS
  • Subscription offers and privacy labels from product pages
  • Social traction and creator-distribution evidence
  • Historical rank, downloads, and revenue from paid datasets
Default scope: Recent success = an App Store product launched within 12 months of the snapshot that already has at least 500 US ratings. Use All research for early and web-only products.

Roles: Benchmark = scaled reference; Watch = current challenger; Adjacent = neighboring model; Context = useful mature comparison; Inspiration = mechanic or aesthetic reference; Early = clear idea with weak signal; Lead = supplied candidate awaiting verification.

Important: the public Apple API provides current storefront snapshots, not historical rating velocity. Revenue and download estimates should never be inferred from ratings.
